Biography:
Daniel Elliott, MD MSCE is a member of the Internal Medicine/Pediatrics faculty and the Co-Director for Ambulatory Medicine Research and Clinical Outcomes at CCHS. He is also a Senior Policy Analyst in the Health Services Policy Research Group at the Center for Community Research and Service at the University of Delaware. Dr. Elliott completed a NRSA-funded Generalist Scholars Program at the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Epidemiology with a concentration in Outcomes Research. His primary research interest is in health services research, particularly focused on enhancing the organization of the primary care delivery system to improve comprehensive cardiovascular risk factor reduction. He currently is the PI on a project investigating the impact of the elimination of medication copayments on medication adherence and clinical outcomes in 212 diabetic patients employed at CCHS; a project using decision analytic techniques to define the optimal test characteristics for a theoretical test to detect significant coronary artery disease among patients with stable angina in the ambulatory setting; and a project investigating the association between hospitalist-physician patient volume and quality of care and clinical outcomes in inpatients.
