Research interests:
Dr. Ross is an experienced, productive, NIH-funded clinical researcher with extensive experience managing pediatric clinical trials and translational research. Her primary responsibilities include overseeing the pediatric clinical research programs at Nemours, mentorship of clinicians, fellows, residents, and students, and integration of pediatric clinical and translational research and training programs into the new paradigms. She has been involved in multidisciplinary research involving endocrinology, genetics, neuroimaging, and neurodevelopment for the past 20 years, with continuous research funding from the NIH totaling over $8 million dollars. The focus of her research is on X-chromosome genetics involving Turner syndrome and Klinefelter syndrome and translation of human genome science into clinical practice. She is engaged in collaborative research projects involving multiple university institutions, including genotype/phenotype correlations and advancement of knowledge about children with genetic X-chromosome disorders and is the PI of a National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS)-funded clinical trial investigating the effects of early androgen replacement on motor function, cognition, and brain imaging in boys with Klinefelter syndrome. Dr. Ross has long-standing experience assembling and coordinating experienced research teams and is well equipped to successfully initiate, participate in, and complete projects fostering collaborations between clinical and basic scientists. Currently, she is involved in 14 NIH-sponsored and pharmaceutical-sponsored ongoing clinical trials.

Dr. Ross has been Editor of the PREP Pediatric Endocrinology Self-Assessment Program, American Academy of Pediatrics since 2008 and has authored over 160 manuscripts and book chapters in the fields of pediatric endocrinology, genetics, and cognition and behavior. She recently edited a book published by MIT Press in 2007 entitled "Neurogenetic Developmental Disorders." She has been a member of several NIH Study Sections in the field of endocrinology and is a member of numerous professional and honorary societies, including the Pediatric Academic Society, the Society for Pediatric Research, and the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society.

December 14, 2011--Registration is now open for Jefferson InterProfessional Education Center's (JCIPE) 2012 conference: Interprofessional Care for the 21st Century: Redefining Education and Practice. The conference will be held on May 18-19, 2012 at Dorrance H. Hamilton Building, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA. Nemours participates in Partnership for a Healthier America Summit
December 8, 2011--The Partnership, of which Nemours is a founding member, has a mission of supporting First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! campaign by working with the private sector to fight childhood obesity. The theme that emerged at the summit, a gathering of leaders from business and industry, academia, nonprofits and government, was: "Make the healthy choice the easy choice."
DHSA plans workshop on collaborative education for clinicians and scientists
December 8, 2011--DHSA will host "Creating Clinical and Research Teams for the Future: Workshop on Collaborative Education for Clinicians and Scientists" on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at the Ammon Education Center of Christiana Hospital. This workshop focuses on developing skills to write educational grants. The program will include information on how to obtain educational grant funding, set goals and evaluate an educational program, and develop an application for the DHSA Education Pilot Award.
